AMERICAN LIBRARY ASSOCIATION WASHINGTON, D.C., OFFICES
                          MOVE TO NEW FACILITIES

Effective August 23, 1995, the American Library Association Washington
Office and the Office for Information Technology Policy will be moving from
110 Maryland Avenue, N.E., to new and expanded joint offices:

WASHINGTON OFFICE OFFICE FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY POLICY

  fax: 202-628-8419 fax: 202-628-8424
  email: alawash@alawash.org email: oitp@alawash.org

Email addresses, including individual staff addresses, will remain the
same.

The move is part of the expansion of ALA's Washington presence to
implement ALA Goal 2000. The new office suite will incorporate a totally
new local area network and upgraded computer, electronic communications,
and voice mail systems.

Because of the physical move, installation of new computing and telephone
systems, and staff training, both offices will be operating at reduced
levels of service from Friday, August 18, through Monday, August 28. It
will be possible to leave email or phone messages and receive responses to
urgent inquiries during this time. Some disruption of electronic
communications may be anticipated during the transition to new systems.

Both offices look forward to the new facilities, increased space,
advanced capabilities, and improved services made possible by this move.
